The Glass Pavilion - at the Toledo Museum of Art, Construction Slide Shows
Construction begins with the digging of the hole for the foundation. As the digging progresses through the week, a steady stream of dump trucks carries the dirt off the building site. Some of the subsoil is being temporarily held on Museum property at the intersection of Interstate 75 and Monroe Street. When the construction of the basement level of the Glass Pavilion is complete, this dirt will be taken back to the building site to back-fill around the foundations. In the background of many of the photos, trees can be seen with wraps of boards to protect them from possible damage.
