Future airport by OMA
It is very specific airport, becouse it´s not far from Mecca. So for 33 days in year during the holy Hajj period two million pilgrims comes to visit Mecca. This specific situacion influence the function and the disposition. So arrival is same important as flight away. The main terminal is in the shape of a ring with an oasis at its centre. Actually there are two terminals: smaller one for the royal family and bigger one for public.

Fantastic and creative, it has the elements of future design, modern, contemporary and different with the normal airport building. It is a beyond architecture, futuristic, smart and super.
This terminal looks like it is made of lace, and this free flowing form is very beautiful. It almost looks like a cave. But is it good enough for the planes and people arriving for those 33 days in a year? I am sure that the tecnical aspect will also be taken care of.
What town has a hub with this few gates? dumb…. unadaptable… architecture as form-making, not as solution-giving.
